What do you like most about your job?

Every day brings something new.  Working alongside families and the different dynamics and goals they have.

What would you be doing if you weren’t in this profession?

FBI agent or some type of investigation work although sometimes it feels like I am a double agent!

What’s the strangest, most exciting thing you have done in your career?

Starting my career in the trust industry in Northwest England, I never envisaged that this would allow me the opportunity to work internationally.  I have been lucky enough to live and work in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Switzerland and now I am back in Cayman as I enjoyed it so much!

What is one of your greatest work-related achievements?

Joining the partnership at R&H.

What has been the most interesting case you have seen in 2022?

With the continual innovation in the financial world, there have been a number of cases with unique assets which requires the need to grow and learn constantly to ensure that as Trustee they are effectively managed.

What do you see as the most significant trend in your practice in a year’s time?

Contentious matters as the fallout from the markets or generational changes occur.

What personality trait do you most attribute to your success?

Patience and diplomacy – often needed in bucket loads!

Who has been your biggest role model in the industry?

I have been fortunate to work with a number of fantastic CEO’s/Partners from whom I have learnt a great deal.  I couldn’t possibly choose one.

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

Parachute jumping, it’s amazingly peaceful.

You’ve been granted a one-way ticket to another country of your choice. Where are you going and why?

Somewhere cold, with snow.  Perhaps back to Iceland and hopefully this time see the Northern Lights.

What is a book you think everyone should read and why?

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.  Emotional but a wonderful story of redemption, friendship and hope.

Reflecting on 2022, what three words would you use to sum up the year?

Turmoil, challenge and opportunity.
